She integrates her Isadora Duncan studies with her Physical theatre training with a solid foundation of lyrical bellydance. Another speciality is Balkan fusion and a Roma festival in Macedonia that Paola hosts annually. |

| Biography | The
girl can't help it. Where's there's music, there's Paola, moving,
grooving, and instigating others to the joy and beauty of dance! A native Macedonian, her first dances were the kolo circles of her motherland (think "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"). She and her sisters would dance the night away to Balkan, Greek, Turkish and Levant styles - a real band of Gypsies right in the heart of the Chicago Slavic Immigrant community. College kid Paola took her first belly dance class in 1993 and never looked back. When destiny took her to Brazil in 1996, she learned from a variety of Brazilian raqs sharqi gurus for over five years. She was then turned loose as a teacher and wandering seeker of this gorgeous expression of womanly grandeur. Paola landed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in late 2003 where she opened the Yalla Bina! school of Raqs Sharqi - which now has a new location in Ampang. She continues to teach and perform all over Asia and is having the time of her life! |
