Biography Since childhood Marta has been engaged in different art forms. She attended the High school for Fine Arts and Design Zagreb, Croatia. Her further education continues at the prestige Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy (Accademia di belle arti di Firenze) in painting. During her academic study’s she is gaining further knowledge in design, sculpture, graphic, pedagogy and architecture & urbanistics. In 2003 she graduated at the top of her class. From 2003 to 2005 Marta lived in Santiniketan, W. Bengal, India, and studied at the University of Kala Bhavan, founded by Nobel Prize winner Rabindranath Tagor in 1901. During her stay in India she expanded her art knowledge in Indian painting, graphics, classical Indian dance and music. Her stay in India became a major influence in her life and shaped her art forms. Her love for dance started with salsa, merenge, bachata, Latin American and ballroom dances but did not stop there. Soon after she discovered the beautiful world of belly dance. Her training started with American tribal belly dance and expanded to Egyptian and cabaret style. Her love for the dance and wish to perfect and learn as much took her to Egypt to further study the art, where she completed her A-Z Teacher's Training in Cairo with Keti Sharif, Paola Blanton and Suzanne Oehlers. As an Oriental dance choreographer, teacher and performer, her aim is to introduce Oriental dance to a much broader audience. Marta is a patient, kind teacher with a keen eye for details and problem solving. Marta teaches A-Z belly dance as a part of her dance school program in Zagreb. |
