Julie's Biography
Julie
Abela has recently been to Egypt to train with in A-Z with Keti
and Egyptian choreographers. In Australia she has trained with
Kevena of Newcastle, Cynthia Delaney of Wollongong, had week
long intensives with Aida Nour, Denise Enan. She is looking
forward to getting back to Egypt again soon for the Nile Group
festival! She is an importer of Egyptian dancewear and costumes,
specialising in beautiful, traditional and modern Egyptian high
quality bellydance and folkloric dance costumes made in Cairo.
Julie has her own studio in Corrimal, so call her and drop in
to see her fine costumes!
An
Egyptian dance enthusiast, her training in her favourite dance
style is ongoing!! Julie's most favourite styles are Classical
Egyptian and Folkloric styles (Nubian, khaleegy, Alexandrian,
Hagalla, and Ghawazee) from the country she endevours to visit
as often as possible! In her dance performance, she enjoys using
special props such as veil, finger cymbals, cane and the fine
art of balancing the sword. Julie loves all the classical dancers
- especially the dancing of Soheir Zaki, Nagwa Fouad, Samia
Gamal.
