Debora's
Biography
Débora has always loved show business. Ever since she was a little girl she used to get together with girls around her to learn choreographies. Everything began 20 years ago when her mother went on holiday to Egypt at a time when a trip there was very exotic and the presents she brought home changed Deborah´s life forever:
a gorgeous sequined dancer´s dress, a massive book of Egypt that she read compulsively and loads of tapes of music
that captivated her completely. Since then she has loved Egypt profoundly.
Many years later, led by the amazing Yhemel, she assisted her first oriental dance class and that very same day she felt something that she had never experienced, she felt that something belonged to her, that finally she had found her place in the world. From Nine years ago she teaches in Leganes, a small city in the south of Madrid, where she has created a school that more than 300 students, of all ages and levels, attend. Even people with disabilities are well integrated and more than welcome. In fact, her work with people with disabilities has been recognised with two prizes in the Madrid Coca-cola awards.
In 2007 she obtained her A-Z Certification in London. Every year she travels the world learning from the best teachers and enjoying the most glamorous dance festivals
(New York, Brussels, Istanbul, Cairo) but being in class dancing with her girls is without doubt what makes her happiest.
In 2010 she performed in Egypt, Macedonia and the Split tribal festival. Deborah is a patient and generous teacher with profound knowledge of oriental dance and all types of fusions that she performs continually whilst dedicating a lot of time to studying and a tireless practice of yoga and Pilates. She integrates her knowledge from these activities to her teaching. |
