Biography My first taste of Middle Eastern dancing was during a family holiday in Morocco in 2002. They had belly dancing lessons around the pool once a week. I loved the Arabic music, just listening to it made me want to get up and dance and the movements just felt so natural to me. From that moment I knew I wanted to learn as much as I could about this beautiful and mysterious form of dance. I began taking lessons the following January and have been hooked from that moment on! During the past three years I have visited Cairo 6 times to further my knowledge of the dance and have trained with Raqia Hassan, Soraya, Yasmina, Rhanda, visiting the Ahlan Wa Sahlan festival in 2004 and 2005, and joined Keti's A-Z advanced course in Egypt in July 2005. I perform regularly in restaurants and private parties throughout the south of England as well as local festivals and charity events, sometimes accompanied by my students. |
